Drupal 11.4 makes your website even faster

With our July release, we updated the entire TwelveBricks platform to Drupal 11.4. This delivers a significant performance improvement.

Speed isn’t just about smart caching, good hosting, or optimized images. A large part of a website’s performance is determined by what happens under the hood.

Far fewer database queries

One of the biggest improvements in Drupal 11.4 is the way pages are built. Each page now requires significantly fewer database queries than in previous versions. That means your website has to do less work to generate a page.

The best part is that nothing about your website’s content needs to change. The performance gains come directly from improvements to the underlying technology.

Smaller JavaScript and CSS files

Improvements have also been made on the frontend. JavaScript and CSS files are compressed more efficiently, which means visitors need to download less data before a page can be fully displayed.

This is particularly noticeable for visitors on mobile connections or devices where every kilobyte and millisecond counts.

Better performance without rebuilding your website

This is exactly where a platform like TwelveBricks has an advantage. A traditional website is often launched and then mainly kept up to date from a technical perspective. Major improvements usually only happen again during the next redesign or rebuild.

TwelveBricks works differently. Because all websites run on the same technical foundation, we can roll out improvements across the entire platform. As soon as we upgrade the platform, every website benefits. That means there are no additional costs required to take advantage of these improvements.

Your website gets faster because the platform underneath it keeps getting better.
