5 oktober 2026TwelveBricks is a fully sovereign European Drupal platform
Last week, we attended DrupalCon in Rotterdam. Besides the inspiring sessions and conversations with the Drupal community, we also spent valuable time with our partners at Kraut.Hosting. We're proud to say TwelveBricks is now a fully sovereign platform!
Every layer of the stack (hosting, storage, edge delivery, and email) can now run on European infrastructure, under European jurisdiction.
Your data doesn't leave Europe. Full stop.
Until now, we used Cloudflare at the edge (for public assets only, never anything sensitive). That was a sensible, widely used setup. But even public traffic reveals patterns. Request logs, visitor IPs, usage metadata. With our own CDN, that last layer is European too.
Jurisdiction is a technical property, not a legal footnote.
US cloud providers remain subject to the CLOUD Act regardless of where the data is stored. Sovereignty means no foreign authority can compel access to your data, because no foreign-controlled component touches it.
Public institutions need it.
Universities, municipalities, and governments are being asked hard questions about where their data lives and who can reach it. A sovereign platform is a direct answer, not a workaround.
Partnership over lock-in.
Building this internally rather than with Cloudflare is a deliberate choice. European infrastructure, European partners, open-source core. Everything in the chain is something we can inspect and trust.
Drupal has always been the CMS of choice for organizations that take ownership of their digital presence seriously. Now the infrastructure underneath matches.
We'll be migrating our clients to the new setup over the coming weeks. More details will follow. If European data residency is also on your roadmap, we should talk!
